PAWSON, Sylvia Edith (née Jacobson)
Peacefully on Sunday morning, December 3, 2017 in Dorval, passed away Sylvia Edith Jacobson, aged 97 years. Beloved wife of Oakley B. Pawson (predeceased in 2007). Dear mother of Carole Talbot (Charles Johnston) of Pointe-Claire, and Gerald Pawson (Mary Johnson) of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Dr. Jeanne Talbot of Ottawa, John Talbot of Ottawa, Rachel Talbot (Mark Van Zanden) of Toronto, and Julia Pawson of Toronto. Great-grandmother of Ethan and Abigail Schwartz, and Mackenzie and Everett Van Zanden.
Sylvia was born in Copper Cliff in 1920 to William Jacobson and Alma Pleuna, the second youngest of seven children. In 1940, she married Oakley Pawson, eldest child of Herbert C. Pawson and Mary Haley Pawson. Sylvia and Oakley retired from Sudbury to Toronto in 1979 where Sylvia resided for more than 30 years.
A memorial service and internment will take place at St. James chapel in Toronto in May 2018. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maison Herron whose loving care enriched our mother’s last three years. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Voluntas (514-695-7979, voluntas.ca).
