It is with deepest regrets and broken hearts we announce the passing of Paul Girard Campiou.
Paul passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 5:37 a.m. He leave his wife of 54 years, Aline Verna Campiou; 4 sons, 4 daughters, one step daughter, thirty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.
He is predeceased by father Fred Campiou, mother Mary Campiou, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and 10 grandchildren.
Born in Joussard, Alberta on March 14, 1939 and raised in Slave Lake and Driftpile, Paul was a man of nature, he loved being among wildlife and trees.
In his early years Paul Campiou worked along side his dad in the logging industry.
As the oldest son of a family of eleven children he left school early to work with his dad so that his ten siblings could stay in school and achieve a higher education.
Through his life he worked in the forestry industry, logging, cutting wood and picking pine and spruce cones up to the age of 77 years old.
He gave his life and soul to the Great Spirit and his family.
He loves his family with his entire existence, unconditionally.
He was a strong, humble, silent man who viewed all people as friends worthy of his kindness and care.
He helped all who asked and even those who didn’t ask,
He smiled and greeted all in his path, he enjoyed community gatherings, he enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.

Please join us in celebrating Paul’s life.
Procession for Paul Girard Campiou will commence on Sunday, December 10th at 4:00 pm at the High Prairie Chapel of Memories, where he will be taken home by his family.
The Wake will commence at the Driftpile Community Hall upon the

arrival of Paul and carry on until the funeral services.
The Funeral Services will commence on Monday, December 11th at 2:00 pm. Dinner will be served afterwards.
