Pam is predeceased by her father Claud, who was heavily involved in Roman Catholic Organizations in India and Toronto, her mother Dorothy d’Eca (nee Marchant), baby sister Dorothy and brother Julian.
Pam was born in New Delhi, India, studied at Loretto Convent Darjeeling, University of Cambridge and graduated from Loretto House, University of Calcutta, majoring in English. The Calcutta Gazette stated that Pam placed fifth in honours. Pam continued with business courses at York University and Toronto University where she got a diploma in Human Resources to work in this area. She won certificates of honour representing Loretto College at the “Women’s Sports Federation”, placing third in javelin throw in 1951 and first in javelin throw in 1952. Pam became a Canadian Citizen in 1961.
Pam made everyone she met comfortable and welcome in her life, no matter what their age or background. Travelling the nation on business, Pam worked most of her life in Toronto as a Personnel Manager for several companies including ECOLAB. Pam retired in Pembroke where she directed several plays at the Pembroke Seniors Drop in Centre, and volunteered at the Pembroke Regional Hospital coffee shop. Pam loved people, dogs, reading, gardening, travelling and bridge.
Respecting Pam’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service may be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to OSPCA, Grime’s Lodge or the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation (Cancer Centre) would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
