1943-2017
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on February 8,
2017, Nelson John Charles Ryan, husband of the late Margaret (Boyd)
Ryan of Pocologan NB. Born in Digby NS on May 3, 1943, he was a son of
the late James and Marjorie “Dolly” Ryan. A loving father,
grandfather and brother, Nelson will be lovingly remembered by his
sons: Shawn Ryan of Pocologan NB, James Ryan (Holly Winters) of Blacks
Harbour NB and Wayne (Theresa) Boyd of British Columbia;
grandchildren: Shelby, Becky, Cathline, Daniel and Braden; siblings:
Mary Ryan, Muriel “Pinky” Rowbottom, Myrna Ryan, Juanita
Comeau, Rosanne Ransbury, Harley Ryan, James “Duff” Ryan,
Jannie Leriault, Joe Ryan and Judy Robichaud. In addition to his wife
and parents, he was predeceased by a son: Jeffrey Nelson Ryan.
Prior to retirement, Nelson worked in and around the fishing industry.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and being out in the
woods. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and family and will be
sadly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. Visitation will be held at the funeral
home on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will take place from
the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 3:00 pm with Rev. Reg Ward
officiating. Interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the Spring.
In Nelson’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation,
Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family.
