1937 – 2017
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Naomi Girvin announces her passing on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.
Naomi was born to Nephi and Jennie Atwood on August 13, 1937 in Cardston, Alberta. She was the eldest daughter of their nine children. Herb and Naomi were married for 63 years. They lived and raised their five sons in Cranbrook. Naomi will be remembered for her loving, caring, kind and generous nature. Naomi welcomed everyone into her home and no one left without a full stomach and a warm heart.
Naomi is survived by her husband Herb, her brother Fay (Bea), her sisters Leila (Butch), Wanda (Perry) and Debbie (Ken), her children Bob (Deb), Randy, David (Tina) and Jeff (Kittie), her grandchildren Chad, Scott, Chris, Lyndsey, Carla, Jennifer, Amanda and Gabrielle and also by seven great grandchildren.
Naomi was predeceased by her brothers Elmer (Barb), Ray (Shirl) and Eldon (Kathy), her sister Loretta, her son Patrick and her granddaughter Kari.
Herb and the family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends for all of their love, acts of kindness and support during this difficult time.
A celebration of Naomi’s life will be held at a later date.
