Obituary for Nancy Arnold ( Marrow)
Arnold: Nancy Ruth (Marrow) 1924 – 2017
Passed away peacefully at Innisfree House on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her parents, sister Barbara and brother Bud. Survived by husband Cyril, son Paul (Margaret), grandchildren David (Meagan) and Kimberly, great grandchildren Deven, Nora, Simon and James, and sister-in-law Lois Torrance. Nancy was born and raised in Montreal and spent summers in Toronto and Muskoka. As a single mother in a less accepting time, Nancy worked as a school teacher in Kincardine, ON. Later in life she went back to school and earned her bachelor’s degree and a Masters in extension education. Following a career as a special education teacher with the Simcoe and Waterloo Public School Boards, she proceeded to obtain a Masters of Theology and joined the chaplaincy of St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener. Special thanks to her dear friend Pat Ball, the Grand River Cancer Center and Dr.’s Graczyk and Dicu, Nurses Sue and P.A., Waterloo Wellington Local Health Network, the Palliative care group of Dr. Yew and nurse Marion, and finally Innisfree House Hospice and the staff who allowed Nancy to die in comfort and peace. Donations in memory of Nancy can be directed to any of the above organizations (cards available at the funeral home). Cremation has taken place. Nancy’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, from 2 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Reception to follow.
