Myrtle Jacobson
November 27, 1927 – May 10, 2017
On May 10, 2017 Myrtle Jacobson left this life and was welcomed into the arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Myrtle Evelyn Ulven was born on November 21, 1927 to Lawrence and Alma Ulven near Strongfield, SK. She received her education in a country school, at LCBI in Outlook and the City Hospital School of Nursing in Saskatoon. She nursed in Bellingham, Washington and Shellbrook, SK. She married Edward Jacobson of Shell Lake in 1950 where they lived and farmed until Ed’s death in 1989. She continued to live in the community until 1998 when she moved to Saskatoon. She was a wonderful and gracious woman!
She was predeceased by her husband Ed, her parents, brother Marvin and his wife, Ellen, brother Lloyd, sisters & brothers in law Irene & Len McLean, June & Elvin Haug; brothers & sisters in law Harry & Hilda Njaa and Howie & Clara Olson.
She is survived by her 5 children; Mark (Marilyn) Jacobson, Jake (Joanne) Jacobson, Ilyne (Scott) McTeer, Nora (Clifford) Watkins, Josie (George) Lidgett as well as 16 grand children, 14 great grand children, her sister in law, Sandra Ulven and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the staff at Luther Special Care Home in Saskatoon for the spiritual, physical and emotional care they graciously provided over the past 3 years.
A memorial service to celebrate Myrtle’s life will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Shell Lake Lion’s Hall, Shell Lake, SK. Interment will follow at Scandia Cemetery south east of Shell Lake, SK.
