Muriel Rosa Gene Byers (nee Clark) – 2016

BYERS, MURIEL ROSA GENE (nee Clark)
December 28, 1925 – December 22, 2016
Peacefully, with family by her side, our dear Mom went Home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, December 22nd. Wife of the Late Allan Byers for 47 years and the late Ken Potter, she will be greatly missed by her family, nieces and nephews, and the many friends that she has cultivated over a lifetime. Dear Mother of Karen, Marlene d’Olivat (Jeff) and Rob (Sherri) and loving Nanny of Christy (Darren), Craig (Nancy), Jamie (Nicky), Stephanie (Mark), Kyle (Cassie) and Annie, and Grand-Nan of Cole, Noah and Neko. She will also be remembered by the Potter family.
Born to Norman and Evelyn Clark, she lived all of her life in Orillia. Muriel was the youngest of three children. Orma and Everett (Ev) both predeceased.
Muriel was fun loving with a very outgoing personality and she loved music. As a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, Muriel served with passion in the church using primarily her gift of hospitality. One of the highlights of her life was celebrating her 90th birthday last year.
For their compassionate and superb care, the family wishes to thank Dr. Marc Italiano and the wonderful staff on Soldiers’ II and at The Leacock Retirement Lodge.
Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Monday, January 2nd from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 3rd from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12 noon at the Hillside Bible Chapel, 195 Atlantis Drive, Orillia. Interment: Atherley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society, Samaritan’s Purse or Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com
2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
