Suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at the Victoria Hospital in London, on Friday afternoon, May 26th, 2017. John Benjamin Williams, of Owen Sound, at the age of 80 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Ellen Williams (nee Schauber) for 55 years. Loving father of Mary Johnson (Allan), of Owen Sound, Tina Minard (James), of Hanover and Wayne Williams (Darlene), of Port Elgin. Proud grandfather of Shawn, Ashleigh, Abigail, Jessica (Josh), Kevin (Sarina), Justin, Hayley and great-grandfather of Blane and Nohlan. Dear brother of Shirley Johnson (Elmer), of Mitchell, Laverne Rock (Darlene), of Woodstock, Ronnie Rock, of Mitchell, Darlene Dalton (Dennis), of Goderich, Pauline Williams (Wilf Sukowski), of Stratford and brother-in-law of Aaron Schauber (Carole), of Windsor. Dear step-son of Lillie Rock. Ben will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Esther Williams; his in-laws, Gordon (Ellen) Jameson and Marie Noble.
A Funeral Service for Ben Williams will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492), on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Christie Morrow-Wolfe officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation as an expression of sympathy.
