Balzamo, Marie (née Lemieux) 1929-2017 Passed away peacefully in Pointe-Claire, on December 12, 2017, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Michael Balzamo; adored mother of Theresa (Serge Blain), Andrea (Bruce Macaulay), Loretta(Luc Forest), and Michael; grandmother of Patrick (Lindsay Gilbert), Philippe, Eric, Emily (Theodore Porter), Kathryn, Simon, Ariane and great-grandmother of Rosalie.
She was the daughter of Catherine(Tolland) and Alphonse; predeceased by her sister Rita, and brothers John-Paul and Paul-Alphonse. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Marcelle, Florence, Helen and Catherine and by her brothers Raymond, Gerald, Pierre and their spouses, and her many nieces and nephews.
Upon completing her BSc at Marianopolis College, Marie worked at the Bell Telephone Co. A devoted mother and wife, after raising 4 children, Marie returned to work at the Baldwin Cartier School Commission. She will be fondly remembered for her greatest passions wich were her children, grandchildren, and her many outdoor activities with her family.
By the courage of her convictions, and abiding charm of simplicity, we have learned so much. Marie led a full life surrounded by love, remaining strong and courageous to her last day. We were lucky to have had such a dear mother and friend. We will forever hold a special place in our hearts for her.
Special thanks to her caregivers, Angela and Anne, and to Dr. Anne-Marie Dollois.
There will be a visitation at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 560, Lakeshore Dr, Dorval, on Saturday, December 30th, 2017, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM followed by a service at 3:30 in the chapel, and a reception at 4:30.
