Peacefully in hospital, Carleton Place, surrounded by the love of her children on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in her 87th year. Wife of the late Merrill Giles. Dear mother of Harold Robertson (Lorraine), Carolyn Purdy (Merle), Calvin Robertson (Jocelyn), Cheryl MacKenzie (Andrew), Dale Robertson (Kim), Barbara Kenny (Sonny), Debbie Coburn (John) and Steven Robertson (Debbie). Dear grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother of 28. Stepmother of Bob Giles (Dorothy), Bill Giles (Patti-Ann), Chris McCready (Jim), Kathy Devlin (Earl) and Carol Manzon (Mark). Missed by her beloved pet Lilly. Predeceased by brother Ken Somerville and sister Rita Somerville. Loved by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 28 Hawthorne Ave., Carleton Place at 2 p.m.
Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ferguson Falls. Donations to LAWS would be appreciated.
