Born in Ingonish Harbour on November 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Catherine Whitty.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Ronald Michael, and sister-in-law, Brenda Donovan.
Special thanks to the staff of Buchanan Memorial Hospital.
