It is with great sadness that the family of the late
MICHAEL
F. SLANEYof St. Lawrence announces his passing at the U.S.
Memorial Health Care Centre in St. Lawrence on Monday, December
25th, 2017, at the age of
90. Leaving to mourn with fond and
loving memories are sons, Chris (Noella) St. Lawrence, Richard of
Saskatoon, Carl (Patricia) of St. Lawrence, Ken of Paradise, and Brian
of St. John’s; daughters, Beth Robson of Paradise, Sarah
Slaney of St. Lawrence, Jean Slaney of St. Lawrence, Ellen (Paul)
Thistle of Aylmer, ON, Lynette (George) Tobin of Paradise, Ann Marie
(Richard) Slaney of St. Lawrence, and Michelle (Howard) Power of
Chapel Arm; sister, Madeline
O’Driscoll of Bay Bulls; sisters-in-law, Blanche Slaney and
Helen Slaney of St. Lawrence; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren;
plus a large circle of extended family and
friends. He was predeceased by his wife
Theresa; parents, David & Sarah Slaney; son Terry Slaney;
brothers, Bill Slaney, Bud Slaney, and Julian Slaney; and sisters,
Maggie Pike, Monnie Murphy, and Marie Rennie.
The Slaney Family will be accepting visitors at St.
Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in St. Lawrence on Wednesday,
December 27th, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.;
and Thursday, December 28th, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.;
from where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday,
December 29th, 2017, at 10:00
a.m. Interment will follow at Mt.
Cecilia Roman Catholic Cemetery in St.
Lawrence.
In Michael’s
memory donations may be made to Mt. Cecilia R.C. Cemetery Fund, P.O.
Box 157 St. Lawrence, NL A0E 2V0 or flowers gratefully
accepted.
