May Iris Rose Ritchie 28 mai 1928 – 4 février 2017

Ritchie, May Iris Rose – age 88 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at the Q.E.II hospital on February 4th, 2017. Born in Halifax, NS; she was a daughter of the late William and Daisy (Hiles) Howe.
Mom was a very caring person, ready to do anything to help others. She loved to play bingo and to knit dish clothes which everyone found in their Christmas gifts. She retired from the N.S. hospital in housekeeping and also worked many years at the Metropolitan Store, Downtown Dartmouth. She loved to cook and bake, and was known for her gingerbread.
Predeceased by her husband of 57 years Gordon Thomas; infant daughter Pamela Rose; granddaughter Crystal Marie and son in law Rob MacIntosh.
She will be sadly missed by her children Donna of Dartmouth, Wayne (Linda) of Antrim, Ethel (Sutton) of Dartmouth, Angela (Dave) of Alberta; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and also Jane Naugle who had a special place in mom’s heart.
In keeping with mom’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Atlantic Funeral Homes, Dartmouth Chapel on Friday, February 10th, 2017 at 1pm.
