Maurice J. Aubie

Maurice J. Aubie
“Mossie” passed away peacefully surrounded by his
family on Wednesday May 31, 2017, at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes,
Bathurst, at the age of 89.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of
the late Maurice Sr. and Gertrude (Young)
Aubie.
He is survived by his wife of 64
years, Vivian (Grant)
Aubie.
Three children: Jocelyn Schwenger
(Rick) and Michael Aubie (Mary) both of Bathurst and Denise Rainsberry
(Bob) of Sudbury, ON.
Four grandchildren: Erin (Greg), Jeff,
Sara and Holly; two great grandchildren: Laura and Peter.
His sister, Marguerite Hachey (Aurele)
of Bathurst. Many nieces and
nephews.
He was retired after 37 years from the
former Stone-Consolidated pulp and paper
mill.
One of his greatest passions in life
was enjoying the outdoors which he shared with many of the
city’s youth as a Scout leader in the Holy Family parish.
After his retirement Mossie could often be seen enjoying a good time
with old and new friends on the golf course, cross country ski trails
and the curling club. He continued to spend time enjoying the upriver
area and the Bay of Chaleur with his lifelong friends and creating
wonderful wood creations for his grandchildren. It is a certainty that
there is a joyous reunion of the boys going on in a log cabin
somewhere.
He was predeceased by three sisters:
Nelda, Adrienne, Eleanor and two brothers: Freddy and
Hector.
There will be no visitations at the
Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday June
5, 2017 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church,
Bathurst.
The family wishes to thank the
wonderful staff of the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes for all their care
and compassion. Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so to the
charity of their choice.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Maurice J. Aubie.source
