Matwyuk, Kenneth – peacefully at his residence, with family at his side, on Monday, January 30th, 2017 in his 69th year. Son of the late John and Frances Matwyuk. Beloved husband of Deborah (nee Tripp) of Belleville. Loving father of Peter (Ashley) of Stirling and Proud grandfather of Lillianne. Dear brother of Marie Cole of Lower Sackville, NS, Michael (Deborah) Matwyuk of Prince George, BC and Janine (Blaine) Brethour of Penticton, BC. He will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Ken was a Trustee of Genoa Assembly #0863 and a former Treasurer of Archbishop Wilhelm Council #1008 of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid outdoorsman, an active member of Holy Rosary Parish and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. The family will receive friends at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Friday, February 3rd, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus leading prayers at 5:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 169 North Park Street on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with Interment of the urn at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Holy Rosary Building Fund, The Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
