We, the family of Mary Josephine McLeod sadly regret to announce the death of our dear mother at her home in Beaver Cove on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
Born in New Waterford, Josephine was the daughter of the late Tom and Catherine (MacDonald) Gillis of Lewis Bay West and Grand Mira South.
She is survived by sons Billy, Fr. Peter, and Gerard; daughters; Anne Marie MacNeil and Bernadette; grandchildren; Terrance, Calum and Emily MacNeil, as well as several nieces and a nephew.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Peter, brothers Alex and Jimmy, and foster brother Ray Murphy; sisters Annie Buttlar, Margaret, Rose, Agnes, and Janie Markotjohn.
Visitation for Josephine McLeod will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2016, in St. Andrew Church (Parish of St. Barra) from 5- 8 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be held Monday, at 11:00 a.m.in St. Andrew Church, Boisdale, presided by Fr.
