Mary passed away suddenly on Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Mitchell Nursing Home. Born in North Holland, The Netherlands, on March 23, 1929, Maria Johanna Hauwert (née Koning) of Mitchell, formerly of Seaforth, was in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of the late Theo Hauwert (1963). Loving mother of Marianne Schweitzer of London, John Hauwert (Margaret) of RR#3 Guelph, Dorothy Smith (Dave) of Mitchell, and mother-in-law of Kathleen Hauwert of Burlington and Monique Hauwert of Alberta. Cherished Oma of eleven Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Theo, sons Ron and Nick, parents Johannes and Agatha Koning, and her brothers Dirk and Thomas Koning.
Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Thursday, May 25th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (with Parish Prayers at 8:15 p.m.). Mass of Christian Burial led by Fr. Festus Komolafe will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria St., Seaforth, on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. James Catholic Cemetery followed by a reception at the Seaforth Legion, Branch 156.
