LEBLANC, Doris Cecelia, D’Escousse.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that occurred May 20, 2017 at her residence at St. Anne Centre in Arichat. Born December 25, 1921 in D’Escousse, she was the daughter of the late James Bonaventure and Mary Adelphine “Mina” (Fougère) Landry. Doris is survived by her son “G.J.” Godfrey James (Anne Marie); daughters, Naomi (Ian) Davidson, and Maxine (Claude) LeBlanc-David; grandchildren, Shawn, Amy, Andrew, Jesse, Julie, Ashley, Luke and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Maëlle, Ruby, Levi and Hazel; nieces, Sharon, Delores and Colleen; nephew, Mark. She was predeceased by her husband, Omer Godfrey LeBlanc; sisters, Muriel (Landry) Britten and Marjorie Landry; nieces, Cindy, Lucy and Marlane Britten; nephew, Dennis Britten; beloved aunt and best friend, Ina (Burke) Landry. Doris is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a former Eucharistic Minister of St. Hyacinth Parish in D’Escousse and proprietor of Omer LeBlanc General Store in D’Escousse from 1947 – 2000. Visitation will take place in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Farewell will be celebrated in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2pm with Rev. Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial to take place in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in D’Escousse. Reception will be held following committal in the Civic Improvement Hall, D’Escousse. Memorial donations can be made to St. Hyacinth Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
