Martin, Douglas Valentine – peacefully at E J McQuigge Lodge on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017, in his 98th, year. Son of the late David and Evelyn Martin. Beloved husband of the late Mary Gladys Martin (nee-Pyear). Dear father of Stephen (Virginia) Martin of Waterloo and Linda (Glen) Carson of Corbyville. He is also survived by his daughter-in- law, Betty Martin, of Belleville. He is predeceased by one son David Martin. Douglas is predeceased by his brothers and sisters and lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Loving grandfather of Darryl (Karen) Martin of Inverary, Denise Martin of Belleville and Lee (Nicole) Martin of Corbyville, Shane Martin of Calgary, Susan (Paul) Dunk of Waterloo and Stacey (Tom) O’Connor of Calgary, Jamie Carson of South Korea and Kristen Carson of Ottawa. Dear great grandfather of Luke, Sarah, Brady, Jacoby, Caleb, Rebecca, Isaiah and Nijel. A Memorial service will be held at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville on Thursday, December 28th, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until service time. Following the service a reception will be held at the Steele Family Centre. Inurnment will take place at Victoria Cemetery in the spring time. If desired, Memorial donations to the Gideon Bibles or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
