Marjorie Mary Doucett

It is with
profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother,
Marjorie Mary Doucett, 82, of South Bathurst which occurred Friday
evening, May 19th at the
ChaleurRegionalHospital after a brief
illness.
The daughter
of the late Lewis Roy and Margaret (Melanson) Roy, Marjorie was born
in Bathurst in 1934. She married Gordon J Doucett in 1955 who
predeceased her in 1961. Marjorie was an excellent designer and
seamstress whose talents and skills were secured by
Lounsbury’s clothing department and clients in the
community. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, needle
point, woodworking and star gazing. She had a sense of
wonderment for the natural world and a deep appreciation for
literature and music. A champion of the arts, she was a
regular volunteer for the Bathurst Music Festival. Marjorie was a
devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be
greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she
touched.
She is
survived by her daughters Janet (Bathurst), Catherine (Bathurst) and
Paulette Doucet (Dr. A Unger, Saskatoon). She is survived by her
brother Peter Roy (Patricia Gagnon) of Bathurst and two sisters,
Barbara Aube (Ralph) of Beresford, Ann Hewlyn (late Hiram) of Cormack,
NF, along with her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by three sisters, Carmelita Peters (Eric), Henrietta
Allcott (Gerald) and Rose Frenette (Leo).
According to Marjorie’s wishes there will be no funeral
service. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the
ChaleurRegionalHospital especially to those trained in and passionate
about palliative care. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home
(www.elhatton.com), Bathurst,
NB.
