1943-2017
Marion “Diane” (MacFarlane) Flewelling passed away
peacefully with her family by her side at the Saint John Regional
Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Thursday October 26, 2017.
Born in Saint John January 30 1943, Diane was the youngest daughter of
the late Robert and Marion (Secord) MacFarlane.
A loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, Diane experienced her
greatest joy when in the company of family and friends. She
was the most gracious host and loved to entertain in her
home. Diane was a member at Main Street Baptist and the
Church of the Good Shepherd. Her strong faith in God was a
great source for comfort and inspiration throughout her
life.
Diane had a passion for flowers and colours working as a
florist for 40 years in the City Market, Paul’s Flower Shop
and most notably Keirstead’s Flower Shop up to her
retirement. As a hobby, she loved to play bridge with her
dear friends from her bridge club for many years.
Diane is survived by her loving and devoted husband David of
51 years, son John (Lynn), granddaughter Katie, grandson Michael, all
of Saint John, as well as several nieces and nephews. Aside
from her parents, Diane was predeceased by her sisters Joan (late
Gordon Tower), Janice (late Patrick Williams), June MacFarlane, Jane
(late Brian Doyle), and Joyce MacFarlane.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Luan Le, Extramural Staff, Dr.
Chris O’Brien, and the staff at the Saint John Regional
Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the special compassionate care
provided.
