Bourgeois-Truman, Marie Juliette Hilda
Passed away peacefully on July 10, 2017 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 69 with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Richard Truman (Kristin Truman) and Patrick Truman (Isabel Sloan Yip); her grand-daughter, Olivia Truman; her sister, Marguerite Bourgeois; her nieces Marie-Josée and Laura; her nephews, Sébastien, Daniel, and Tim; and extended family.
Marie was born in Montréal, PQ to bilingual parents and after moving to BC became a pillar of its francophone community. She was a champion of official languages in Canada, Member of the Order of Canada, and Member of l’Ordre des francophones d’Amérique. She was warm, generous, thoughtful, loving, and had an infectious laugh. She loved her children deeply and made them proud every day.
A Memorial Service open to those who wish to pay their respects will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 22 at Kearney Funeral Services, 450 West 2nd Ave, Vancouver, with a Catholic Service to follow in Montréal on August 17.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
