Marie Scott passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Aspen Ridge Lodge in Didsbury, Alberta at the age of 90. Marie was born in Gleichen, Alberta. She had a passion for playing the piano, quilting, crocheting, and teaching. Marie loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She grew huge vegetable gardens and was a great cook. In later years, she loved her dogs. Marie leaves behind five children: Janet (Howard) Schinkel of Cochrane, Earl (Debra) Scott of Crossfield, Judy (Bryan) Fox of Crossfield, and Barry (Deborah) Scott of Cochrane, Heather Hamilton of Cochrane; twelve grandchildren: Amber (Brendan) Bobby, Evan Schinkel; Jason (Kristi) Scott, Jonathan (Camille) Scott, Hayley (Barry) Tebb; Myles (Trena) Fox, Kyle (Kimberley) Fox, Jillian (Mitchell) Bryanton; Kelly Scott, Tyler (Stacey) Scott, Jordan Scott, and Kevin (Brittany) Hamilton; sixteen great-grandchildren: Ethan, Eric Scott; Shelby, Bow Scott, Wade, Nate Tebb; Cole, CharliAnn, Makenna Fox; Houston, Jaxon Fox; Cora Bryanton; Casen, Keeley, Kaity, Kamryn, Scott; as well as three brothers: Neil Longson, Edmonton; Cecil (Nancy) Longson, High River; and Bill (Myrna) Longson, Nanton. She was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Mary Longson, brothers Wilfred, John, Jim and Gary; sons-in-law Kevin Hamilton and Alan Genberg. A Memorial of Marie’s life will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605—100 Street SE, Calgary, AB).
