On January 23, 2017, Maria Tchoryk of Edmonton, born in Dawyd-Horodok, Ukraine, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years.
Maria is survived by her daughters, Anna, Genya and Irena (Taras); and grandchildren, Laryssa and Marko. Predeceased by her husband, Maksym in 2016; parents, Stephan and Maria; four brothers and three sisters, all of Ukraine.
Prayer Service Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m. at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church, 11305 – 95A Street.
Divine Liturgy Friday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church. Reverend Stanislav Bjeli and Very Reverend Mihajlo Planchak officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church (UCWLC, St. Mary’s Branch), 11301 – 96 Street, Edmonton, AB T5G 1T2 or Guardian Angels Ukraine Project, c/o LUCW, #204, 2282 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON M6S 1N9, in support of humanitarian projects in Ukraine.
