Obituary for Marianne “Ruth” Matheson
Marianne Ruth Matheson (née McDougall) of Elgin Lodge, Port Elgin, formerly of Spry Lake and Tiverton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of the late Donald Matheson who predeceased her in 2011.
Ruth is survived by her four children and their spouses, Dan and Kym Matheson of Wiarton, Ken Matheson and Shane St. George of Toronto, Lorna and John Freeburn of Port Elgin, Anne and Rob Roy of Beaverton, Michigan.
Missed by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Ruth E. Matheson of Tiverton, brother-in-law Keith Surridge of Penticton, BC, and their families.
Predeceased by her parents, Coll and Mayne (née McDonald) McDougall, much loved sister Grace Surridge, grandson Jordan Freeburn and brother-in-law Johnny Matheson.
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where the funeral service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Final resting place Tiverton Cemetery.
