Maria Richard
A mother’s love is irreplaceable while her family
roots show us our loving family. Surrounded by her
family we would like to remember all the special moments of
her life. Maria Richard, born on August 24, 1938, (she was
78 years old) passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont
University Hospital on Monday, February
13th, 2017.
She is survived by her two daughters, Monique Phinney
(Timothy) of Moncton and Claudette Richard (Daniel Fournier)
of Dieppe, her six grandchildren Cory, Hannah and Laura Phinney and
Patrick, Mathieu and Josee Leblanc. She is the daughter of
the late Abraham and Rose-Anna (Doiron) Gallant. She is
survived by her seven sisters and one brother, Fernande Richard (Joe),
Geneva Deveau (Herve), Geraldine Bordage (late Robert), Huberte
Thebeau (Camille), Clarisse Thebeau (late Eddie), Ronald Gallant
(Angie), Jeannita Bastarache (late Leo) (Zoel Breau),
Patricia Thebeau (Livain) and many nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends. Maria was predeceased by her brother Jean-Guy
Gallant (Sylvia) and baby brother (Jean-Paul). She was also
predeceased by the father of her children, Roger
Richard.
Maria Richard retired from the Villa du Repos, Elmwood Drive,
with 22 years’ service. She cherished her two
daughters and her six grandchildren who were her pride and
joy. She loved music and dancing, and enjoyed
visiting with all of her friends and family. Maria
will be remembered for her generosity, she had a heart of
GOLD.
She was well known for giving and the towels made her
mark!
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:30
pm, followed immediately by a Service to honor and celebrate
Maria’s life at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel at 3:30 pm,
with Pastor L.D. Buckingham officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home
Reception Centre following the service.
In memory of Maria, the family would prefer donations be made
to the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont
University Hospital for all of their amazing services to families in
