Passed peacefully away on
Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in
Corner Brook, Marguerite (Maggie) Cook with her family by her side.
Left with loving memories, very beloved son Douglas, daughters Wendy
Mills (Walter) grandchildren Matthew (Christine) and Megan and Tracey
Taylor (David) grandchildren Ben and Andrew, cousin Lloyd (Greta)
Brown, special friends Katie Watton, Andrea Collins, Glynda Seaborn
and Nellie LeMessurier; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews,
other relatives and many friends. Predeceased by her husband Harold
Cook, brother Dr. William (Bill) Squires, sister-in-law Carol Squires,
parents Benjamin and Florence Squire, parents-in-law Sidney (S.D.
Cook) and Isabella. Maggie will be sadly missed by family and friends
who are very grateful for the time we had with her. A special thank
you to staff of Restorative Care Program, staff of the Palliative Care
Unit, Dr. Cliff Westby, Rev. Rosemarie Payne and The Very Rev. Baxter
Park. Cremation has taken place at Maggie’s request. Friends
may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s
Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and
Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held at the
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on Friday, January 6 at 1:30 p.m.
with The Very Rev. Baxter Park officiating. Interment to follow at the
Townsite Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in
Maggie’s memory may be made to St. John the Evangelist or
the Children’s Wish Foundation. The family guest book may be
