Margaret Rollings
1919-2017
Margaret Matilda Rollings, age 98 of Ivey’s
Terrace, Trenton formerly of Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow passed
peacefully away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Ivey’s
Terrace, Trenton with her chosen daughter Betty Gladwin by
her side..
Margaret was born at Poplar Point, PEI, she was a
daughter of the late Edward and Minnie (Williams)
Robertson.
Margaret was employed over the years at Basil
MacLeod’s Bakery in Stellarton and later with Major Vending
and Foods and Scott Paper at Michelin Tire Plant in Granton where she
made many friends.
She is survived by her chosen daughter Betty (John)
Gladwin, Abercrombie; and their son Robert (Linda) and
Robert’s children Abbey and Keifer; also Betty’s
sisters Jeannie (Ron) Lowe, Truro; Margie (Karl) Isenor, Enfield;
Betty’s brother Donnie (Sharon) Ruggles, Middle
Musquodoboit.
She was predeceased by her husband Wesley Rollings,
sisters Elizabeth MacDonald, Mary Robertson; and her companion of many
years in New Glasgow Marve Johnston.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm on Thursday in
the H.W. Angus Funeral Home from where funeral service will be held at
3 pm with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. A reception will follow
at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Hunter River
Presbyterian Church Cemetery, PEI at a later
date.
Donations in her memory may be made to First
Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow or a charity of your
choice.
Betty and John would like to thank the V.O.N., Staff
at High Crest Home, Staff at Ivey’s Terrace and Dr. Elliot
for all the kindness and compassion shown to Margaret over the past
years.
