With heavy hearts the family of Margaret McKenna (Summerhayes) announces her passing on July 10 ,2017 at Caressant Care in Fergus. Born February 21, 1930 Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Daisy Summerhayes. She is the beloved mother of Thomas Wiltsie of Fergus and the late Doug Wiltsie(2014). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Tom (Jen), Cyndi (Simon), and Michael (Angela) all of Guelph. Great grandmother to Kaley, Eric, Brodie, Brandon, Taylor, and Liam. Loving sister to Avis Volk and cherished by many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her siblings, Frank, Ella, James, John, Thomas, and Norma. Margaret loved to sew and knit, enjoyed a good game of cards, and loved to watch the hockey and ball games. A lifelong member of the Fergus Legion, Marg spent many years volunteering for the Poppy Drive. She adored her family and enjoyed many visits chatting over a Tim Hortons coffee. Our heartfelt thanks for the compassion and care given by staff at Caressant Care nursing home. Family and friends may visit at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Friday July 14, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
