Margaret Mary Scott (May 21 1923 December 26 2017)

(May 21 1923 December 26 2017)
Margaret Mary Scott It is with heavy hearts that the Scott family announces the passing of Margaret Mary Scott. Margaret was born in Halifax, May 21, 1923, to the late James and Stella Mae Mahoney. Margaret grew up in a large family of eleven children. Helen Mahoney, her last remaining sibling, is going to miss Margaret dearly. She was especially proud of her uncle, the Honourable John F. Mahoney, who was the youngest minister in the Government at that time in 1929. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas School where she had the lead role in many school plays and after high school, she attended Miss Murphy’s Business School. She married Sonny (Ernest) Scott and raised their three boys, Bill (Pat), Bobby (Sandra) and Bernie (the late Joanne). Margaret dedicated her life to her family – Sonny, her three boys, her 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and of course, there was always a dog in the family. Margaret will also be missed dearly by her special neighbour, Isaac Tamblyn and his family. The family is thankful for Nana having Sunday dinners for the entire family (usually at least 20 people), keeping a massive family connected. She was the glue that kept her family together. The family also thanks Dr. Gregory Roy for his unending care of Margaret and Sonny. Special thanks to the staff at the Dartmouth General Hospital for their tender care. Private service for immediate family members only. On-line condolences by visiting www.dartmouthfuneralhome.ca
