In Loving Memory
Margaret Catheleen Patterson, age 92 of Amherst, passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour at East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, on November 25th, 2017.
Born in New Annan she was a daughter of the late Thomas Earle and Marguerite (Marshall) MacIntosh.
Margaret was brought up in New Annan, Colchester County. Margaret accepted the Lord Jesus as her Saviour when she was 11 years old. She was in fellowship with the Christians at the Amherst Gospel Hall. She married Hiel Patterson in 1953 and settled in Oxford. Her family of five children and her grandchildren filled a big part of her life. She was diligent and capable in her career as a medical secretary and in numerous direct sales ventures. She was dedicated to her Sunday school and gospel work and her husband Hiel. She worked consistently with the sick and sorrowing in her communities. She made several lengthy visits to Venezuela and assisted with the missionary work
there. She was an encouragement to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margaret is survived by daughters Nancy Patterson of Port Howe, NS, Esther (Ken) Turkington of Venezuela and Miriam (David) Flynn of Pasadena, NL, sons Andrew (Donna) of Oxford and Paul of Wallace, 12 grandchildren Katherine, Andrew, Joseph, Norman, Thomas, Paul, Rebekah, Michael, Brian, Elizabeth, Aubrey and Christopher, 3 great grandchildren Jade, Kinley and Daniel, one sister Emily (Brad) Brown of Bridgewater, NS, two sisters in law Helen MacIntosh of Tatamagouche and Marjorie MacIntosh of Victoria, BC, brothers in law Lawrence (Wilma) of Pugwash and Douglas of Moncton, sisters in law Shirley Patterson of Linden, Marjorie (Roy) Harvey and of Pugwash as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Hiel Aubrey, sisters Ruby Corbett and Mazie Prest, brothers Edwin, Graham and David and one grandson James. She is also predeceased by numerous MacIntosh and
Patterson in laws.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26th, 3-5 PM and Monday, November 27th, 10-11 AM, at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street,Amherst, 902-667-9906
The funeral service will take place Monday, November 27th, at 11 AM at Campbell’s Funeral Home. Live streaming will be available at distantlink.com/campbells.html.
Interment will take place in the Thompson Station Cemetery following refreshments at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Amherst.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Gideon Bible Society, Thompson Cemetery, or the Cumberland County Hospice and Palliative Care Society.
