Marcel St. Hilaire
The family is profoundly saddened to announce that Marcel St. Hilaire passed away peacefully, on November 4, 2017.
He leaves to mourn his soul mate of 59 years, Yvette; as well as his children Leo (Nicole), Emil (Sharon), Jacqueline (Albert), and Monique (Corey). Marcel also leaves his grandchildren Luc, Franceska, Darrian, Cody, Kyle, and Chantal; and great grandchildren Riley, Aiden, Leah, Tristan, Milo, Lola and Zoe. Marcel is survived by siblings Denise, Madeleine, Paul, Pauline, Janine and Leonne as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marcel was predeceased by his parents Adélard and Dorothée; his siblings Irene, Edmond, Albert, Simone, Roger, Lucien and George.
Marcel was a loving man filled with devotion, faith and great humor. He believed and trusted in the loving mercy of God. Marcel fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 47 years. With his wife’s support and encouragement as well as his faith in God, he battled his illness longer than doctors expected. His strength of character has been a great source of inspiration to those around him. He was always upbeat, positive, and appreciative of everyone and everything.
As a young man Marcel worked for Supercrete, Motorways and the City of Winnipeg Transit. Marcel enjoyed scenic rides in the country and a good game of cards (of course loving to win).
Special thanks to Dr. P. Mehta and staff, as well as the numerous Home Care workers that helped Marcel over the years.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Precious Blood Church, 200 Kenny Street in St. Boniface on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with prayers, eulogy, and viewing beginning at 1:30 p.m.
