Obituary of Mabel Brown
BROWN: Mabel Alice (nee Lindsay)
A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of R.R. # 2 Blenheim, Mabel Brown passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the age of 94.
Beloved wife of the late Edgar Brown (1988).
Loving mother of George Brown (Margaret Holmes) of R.R. # 2 Blenheim and Art Brown (Betty) of Wallaceburg and Valerie Holek (Brad) of Chilliwack, BC.
Proud grandmother of Lisa Mallory, Chris Brown (Lacey), Kayla Travnicek (James), Kelsey Brown (Brook Grant); Dale Brown, Dustin Brown, Mark Raine (Tiffany), Brad Raine (Yuki); Alicia Schutte (Paul) and Adam Holek (Crystal). Predeceased by her granddaughter Melissa Brown. Great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren.
Mabel was one of 16 children born to the late Salina and Samuel Lindsay. She is survived by her four sisters in law Carol Ann Lindsay, Madeline Lindsay, Florence Lindsay and Betty Lindsay. She was predeceased in life by her sisters Marguerite Lindsay, Vieletty Nealey, Vanessa Devine, Louella Turner and Salina Dauphin as well as by her brothers Byron, Henry, Thomas, Charles, Will, Sam, Dave, Bill, Lancelot “Brick” and Matthew “Pat” Lindsay.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 12:30pm until the Funeral Service at 1:30pm with Rev. Bill Terris officiating. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at Morpeth Cemetery at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Mabel to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated .
