Lyndon Lester Michalchuk
June 1, 1958 – December 22, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lyndon Lester Michalchuk. Lyndon passed away peacefully at midnight on December 22, 2017 while holding his mother’s hand at the age of 59 after a hard fought battle with pneumonia and other health conditions. Lyndon will be remembered by his loving mother Wanda, children Sasha and Jared, and mother of his children Shelley; his aunts Adeline and Paul Carbott, Helen Yankoski, Lena and Bill Kalyniak and Maria Michalchuk, and his cousins Danny, Lucien, Michelle, Raymond, Gerald, Jim, Rick, Larry, Maryanne, Dianne, Leslie and lifelong friend Don Mackinnon. Lyndon’s family continually gave him everlasting love, support and encouragement each moment through his health battles. Lyndon is predeceased by and will be greeted by his father Wasylin (Bill) in 1994 and grandparents. Lyndon was born on June 1st 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is the only child of Wanda (Mushamanski) and Bill Michalchuk. Lyndon attended the University of Winnipeg and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later went on to earn his Realtors licence in 1989 through The Canadian Real Estate Association, he first worked as real estate agent with Royal Lepage and later on found his home at Maximum Realty. Lyndon and his mother Wanda worked as a mother- son team for over 30 years. Lyndon was known to fellow realtors and clients as a loving friend and hard worker, who always wanted the best for his clients. Lyndon fell in love with Shelley Legault-Michalchuk, and they married on April 1st, 1987, together they had 2 children Sasha and Jared. His greatest joy and pride were his children, as they were his greatest accomplishment. Lyndon was always recognized for the exciting stories he told, hats that he wore and his welcoming personality. Over the years Lyndon spent a great deal of time at Riverview Healthcare Centre for Stroke rehab for which we would like to thank the Angels at Riverview who worked tirelessly to see that Lyndon always came home. To the Grace hospital; Dr. George and Dr. Guochau, thank you for your endless efforts and care that you have provided Lyndon throughout the years; nurses Val, Leo, Heather, Wilma and Rachel thank you for your care and patience.
A service to celebrate Lyndon’s life will be held at St. John XXIII, 3390 Portage Avenue on Saturday December 30th at 10:30 am followed by a private interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation and Diabetes Canada in Lyndon’s name.
