Lorraine M. Bourque
1930-2017
It is with sadness that the family of Lorraine Marie Bourque
announces her passing on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Shannex
Parkland (Thomas Hall) in Fredericton, NB.
Born in Rogersville, NB, beloved daughter of the late Henri
and Domethilde (Babineau) Bourque. Lorraine had a passion for
gardening, reading and doing volunteer work. She attended Dalhousie
University where she obtained a Science Degree in Nursing, and at
Ottawa University, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in
Education. For a number of years, Lorraine was employed at the
Canadian Nurses Association of Ottawa as test development specialist
and at the New Brunswick Department of Health as a health
consultant.
Lorraine is survived by three brothers, Thomas of Moncton,
NB, Elie of Gardner Mass. and Abel of Fredericton, NB; two sisters,
Andrea of Moncton, NB and Yolande of Oromocto, NB; three
sisters-in-law, Adele, Bella and Geralda; brother-in-law John; several
nieces and nephews. Lorraine was especially close to two nieces, Betty
Bourque and Nola Levesque, both of Fredericton, NB
In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by two
brothers, Eloi and Napoleon and two sisters, Regina and
Eva.
The family would like to thank the palliative care staff and
nurses Shannex Thomas Hall, who took such loving care of Lorraine and
her family in her final days.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 31, 2017, from 1-2
PM at McAdam’s Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow
in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel starting at 2:00 PM with Fr. Shawn
Daley officiating. Donations in Lorraine’s memory can be
made to Grandmothers for Grandmothers or to the charity of the
donor’s choice.
