Lorna Mary Bunston – May 26, 1931 – June 23, 2017
Lorna went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ peacefully, on Friday June 23, 2017. The daughter of Archie and Alice Bunston of Niagara Falls, Ontario, sister to Glynn (predeceased) and Aunt to Cindy, Nancy , Allan and Lorna. She graduated from Nursing in 1953 then cared for her parents while working at Greater Niagara General Hospital. Lorna, also known as “Bunny”, graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto in 1964 then became Director of the School of Nursing at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital in 1967. After a time in Wales Lorna received her Masters in Philosophy of Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Nursing in 1988, after which she taught at Penetanguishine. Lorna was active in Canadian Girls in Training and Nurses Christian Fellowship.
Lorna loved the lake, children, her cats, music, frozen yogurt and British TV shows. She was an active and much loved member of her church, Bay Park community and Birchmere Residence. Lorna touched many lives as an auntie, nurse, teacher and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Christian Fellowship Chapel, 1296 Cambrian Road, Severn on Wednesday June 28th at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls on Thursday, June 29th at 11:30 am.
