Lloyd Berg – 2017

Lloyd passed peacefully into God’s waiting arms on Friday January 27, 2017 in his 83rd year.
Lloyd was the only child of the late Clara and Walter Berg of Hickson, Ontario. He will be loved and missed forever by his wife and best friend Barbara (nee Schutz), and beloved children Howard (Jean), Lianne (Steve) and David (Bonnie). He was adored by grandchildren Lauren (Shayan) and Danielle Knipping, and Alycia and Aaron Berg.
He will also be lovingly remembered by many other family members; sisters and brothers-in-law, aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many good friends.
He had a successful and fulfilling career as an electrical engineer at Allen Bradley (Rockwell) for 39 years and is fondly remembered by his former co-workers.
A faithful Christian, he was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Hespeler.
He set a great example in giving back to his community, donating time, energy and funding to many charitable organizations. He was recognized by the Red Cross for donating blood 135 times.
He was a good friend and neighbour to many, offering companionship and help wherever needed. Lloyd loved all things related to farming and was an avid vegetable gardener. He was always active and loved the challenge of learning new things. He continued to take various courses well into his retirement years. He was interested in every aspect of his grandchildrens’ lives, and found creative ways to support their individual interests.
Family and friends will be received at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 810 King Street E., Cambridge, on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 2pm with visitation beginning at 1pm.
