Leslie Jean Clarke (nee Hedderick) of DeWinton passed away January 3rd 2017 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, after a battle with cancer. She was 73.
Jean is survived by her loving husband Robert (Bob), son David and his wife Paddy, daughter Patricia and her husband Jason Hambling, and their son Jacob.
Jean was born in Calgary and attended Crescent Heights, where she met Bob and they were married in 1966. In 1974 Jean and Bob gave up the city life and moved to the country.… While building their home, they met her “sister” and life long friend Marlene Toole.
Jean loved gardening especially with her green house, where she supplied most of friends with fresh tomatoes. She was also the power behind Clarke Cunningham Publications, where she did everything from layouts, sales, shipping, handling, and accounting. Jean loved animals especially at calving season. She was also an avid reader and read thousands of mystery crime novels.
Jean and Bob loved travelling, and visited England, China, Indonesia, Spain, and the Golden Triangle. In the last 15 years snowbirded La Penita Mexico and Tucson Arizona.
