Mr. Leo Jubenville
At Riverview Gardens in Chatham, Ontario on Saturday, December 16th, 2017, Leo Claude Jubenville, formerly of Tillsonburg & Woodstock, passed peacefully into eternal rest in his 83rd year. Leo was the cherished 8th child of the late Wilfred and Eva (nee Barnier) Jubenville, who added 10 more children to their family after him, including his twin sister Lois, who died in infanthood. Predeceased by his devoted wife of (then) 52 years, Jantina “Tina” Jubenville (nee Lentz) in 2010. Leo and Tina met, when he was serving in the Canadian Army and was stationed in Germany. He and a friend, travelled to Holland, where he met the love of his life in her native land, married her and they decided to eventually reside and make a life in Canada. Leo is survived by his three children: Eva (Bill) Carss, John Jubenville, and Gary Jubenville (Elizabeth). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Michael Carss, Rhyse Jubenville and Shauna Jubenville. He is predeceased by his infant daughter, Mae Christine. Surviving Leo, are his 2 brothers, Marvin “Buck” (Lucy) Jubenville and Beverly Jubenville (Cecile); and his 6 sisters: Doris West, Bernice Faikis, Monica (Ralph) Bechard, Loretta Lucier, Velma Pasiovich and Sandy (Joe) Sullivan. He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Jeanette Jubenville, Yvette Bechard and Elly Bats and brother-in-law, Alan Johnston. Leo is predeceased by brothers: Donald (Myra) Jubenville, Leonard (Donez) Jubenville, Roy Jubenville, Ronald Jubenville (Marilyn), Lyle Jubenville (Theresa) and Roger Jubenville. He is also predeceased by sisters: Rhea Johnston and Linda Pretty (Wayne) as well as brothers-in-law: George West, Jerry Faikis, Roger Lucier, Alec Pasiovich, Eric Lentz and Jan Lentz along with sisters-in-law: Alie Lentz and Jantje Lentz. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service and interment will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West, Chatham, 519-352-2710.
