Leanore I. Boyd
1920-2017
The Edgett and Boby families announce the passing of their
Grand Aunt Leanore on Sunday, February 26, 2017, age 96, at her
residence at Monarch Hall, Riverview.
Daughter of the late Annie (Moore) and Andrew Boyd, she
resided in Moncton, retiring in 1980, after a long career at CNR
Offices. She was noted for her energy and kindness and her stimulated
mind, which showed in her many activities with her friends and family.
She was a long time adherent and choir member at St. John’s
United Church, active with the IODE, and enjoyed her friends at
golfing and curling. She had travelled extensively with friends in
Europe, USA and the Pacific. She was very loving and attentive to her
own parents and also many of her friends in past years when they were
in failing health.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
sister, Muriel Edgett (late Gurney) and brother, Harold Boyd, killed
in WWII.
Greatly loved as the “Grand Aunt of our Families”,
she is survived by Jean Boby (late Robert), Heather and George
Budreski, Craig Boby and Roslyn Dawe, Tim and Wendy Boby, Tom and Jill
Edgett, Susan Edgett and Stephen Diamond, Jane and Brock Webel, John
and Charrisse Edgett, Anne and Mark Marcoux, Mary and Donald Steinburg
and by 27 grand nieces and nephews, 3 great grand nieces; also, her
dear cousin, Phyllis Corbett and her family of Toronto,
ON.
A Service to celebrate and honor Leanore’s life
will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 am with The Rev.
Aaron Billard officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception
Centre following the service. Interment will be held in Elmwood
Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leanore to the
Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
