In Loving Memory
Larry was born on April 5, 1938 and passed away peacefully at Regina General Hospital on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary; brother Tony, nephew Randy; and sister Appy.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia; sister Marge Harrison; several nieces and nephews along with their families. Larry was born and raised in Regina where he attended St. Joseph Elementary School then Campion High School.
While at Campion Larry participated in many athletics including baseball, football and hockey. His love of sports continued throughout his lifetime as he passionately supported the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and the Regina Pats. Later, Larry took up bowling that he continued until just recently. Larry and Sylvia enjoyed traveling and cruising to many destinations and always enjoyed sharing stories of their adventures. Only Sylvia’s failing health put an end to further travel plans. On November 16, 1960, Larry joined the Regina Fire Department where he spent more than 36 years.
He retired as captain on June 30, 1997. After retirement Larry enjoyed time spent at their cottage on Katepwa Lake as well as golfing, fishing, hunting with one of his beloved dogs and attending many sporting events. Larry was an outgoing man, devoted to his wife and her wellbeing. He deeply loved his family and prayed faithfully to his God on their behalf.
