Bathurst – Lawrence
“Larry” Arseneault, 90, of Le Royal, Main St.,
Bathurst, passed away Monday July 17, 2017, at the Chaleur Regional
Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in West Bathurst, he was the son of
the late Benny Arseneault and Theresa
Doucet.
He had a long and interesting career with
the Canadian Forces. His many overseas postings included:
Laos, Indo China with the International Commission for Supervision and
Control; Paris, France with the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers
Europe; Moscow, Russia with the Office of the Military
Attaché; Soest, Germany with Headquareters Canadian Base
Units Europe; Casteau, Belgium with the Supreme Headquarters Allied
Powers Europe; Vienna, Austria with the support staff for the Mutual
Balanced Force Reduction Talks between NATO and the Warsaw Pact
Countries. Member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal
Canadian Legion, Bathust.
He retired with the rank of
Chief Warrant Officer and took up employment as Chief of Annuities
Services for the Federal Government in
Bathurst.
Besides his wife Geraldine
“Gerry” (Comeau) Arseneault, he is survived by one
brother, Leonard (Jean Chiasson) of
Bathurst.
Nephews: Donald Kenny and Fred
Best. Nieces: Carmel Daley and Judy
Brown.
He was predeceased by five sisters;
Delcina Barker, Sister Carmel Arseneau, Winnie Kenny Rita Best and
Ethel Cathcart, and one brother
Harold.
There will be no visitation at the
Funeral Home. A memorial and
Legion service will be celebrated from the Elhatton Funeral Chapel on
Friday morning July 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. Donations in memory
of Larry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite
charity.
