It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Laurent Aquin who passed away peacefully on March 26, 2017, at the age of 89 years.
He will be remembered by his four children; his only daughter, Gisèle (Daniel) Pitre, of Côte-du-Lac, Québec; his three sons, Roger (Cynthia) Aquin of Victoria, Gerald (Elizabeth) Aquin and Marc (Faye) Aquin of Calgary. Laurent has six grandchildren, Camil Lafrenière, Janelle (Mark) Sauvé, Andréa Aquin, Madison (Matt) Smith, Natasha Aquin and MacKenzie; two great-grandsons, Edward and Tyler Sauvé.
He is also survived by one brother, Ron (Joyce) Aquin; six sisters, Roma (René) Dupuis, Irène (Stan) Fisette, Dolorès Aquin, Rolande Turgeon, Lorraine (Louis) Perrin, Pauline (Jack) McRae; one sister-in-law, Philomène Aquin and one brother-in-law Aimé Bourgeois, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Laurent was predeceased by his parents Avila and Jeanne (Gervais) Aquin; two sisters Jeannette Allard and Priscille Bourgeois; two brother, Arcel and Léo Aquin; two brothers-in-law, Fernand Allard and Gerald Turgeon; one sister-in-law, Hélène Aquin.
The family would like to thank Edith Gagné for her care and compassion that she extended toward Laurent, we will be forever grateful.
Laurent will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched, but will live on in our hearts always.
Viewing will be held prior to service at 10:00 a.m., funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St., with reception to follow. Burial will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
