Krista-Lyn Katheryne Tracy
It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Krista-Lyn Kathryn Tracy was born in Winnipeg on November 6, 1979. At the age of two weeks she was placed for adoption with her parents Keith and Lynn Tracy. At that time, they lived in Steinbach, Manitoba. They moved to Portage la Prairie when Krissy was 3 years old. The family there eventually grew to twelve children of which she was the eighth child. She was always very close to her sister Jenna-Leigh who was 2 years her senior. They rarely fought and Krissy called her her best friend. That friendship continued throughout their lives.
Krissy, as she was known, was an exceptionally beautiful baby, child, and woman. She was bubbly and outgoing and made others laugh. As a child, she learned how to play the piano, tap dance, twirl a baton and do highland dancing. She swam with the Portage Piranha Swim Club for many years. She excelled in long distance track and was a cheerleader. She played the saxophone for the school band and the jazz band. She attended school at Prince Charles School and Portage Collegiate where she was enrolled in French Immersion. She graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg Idaho. She often expressed gratitude to her parents for exposing her to so many different opportunities as a child.
As a teen, life started taking a bad turn for Krissy. She was drawn to friends who were bad influences on her and started her experiences with drugs and alcohol. The family moved to Idaho in 1997, to try to help her turn her life around. She loved Idaho very much and made very good friends. Unfortunately not all the friends were good and she was deported back to Canada in 2007 for breaking the law. This was a terrible blow to her because she wasn’t allowed to come visit Idaho or her family. Krissy gave birth to 4 beautiful children in Idaho, all of whom stayed there and were raised by their grandparents. Five more kids were born to her after moving back to Canada. She is survived by Bethany, Emily, Jeremiah, Benjamin, Alexander (AJ), Kathryn, Anthony and her brand new twins, Levi Mathew and Lily Margaret. She loved her children dearly and was an excellent mother when she was free of her addictions and her abusive relationships. Her brother Craig and his family were the only ones left in Portage to be a support to her. They tried hard to help her out when necessary.
Krissy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Despite all her problems, she loved her Heavenly Father and went to him often in prayer. She read often in the scriptures during her hours of need. The very day before she ended her life she carried around her Book of Mormon and pictures of her children.
“Your life was a shooting star that burned out way too fast. I hope you found what you are looking for. I pray that you are happy now never looking back.
Rest with the angels now The heavens gained your laugh. (Andy Black)
Goodbye to our Shooting Star, You will be forever in our hearts. Rest in peace you Beautiful Girl. We love you!
