Obituary for Kimberly Melnyk
Kimberly passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, AB on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 44. Beloved wife of Trevor Smith. Proud mother of Liam Sun Woo Smith. Cherished daughter of Edward Melnyk and Marguerite Melnyk (née Gauthier). Dear sister of Melissa Melnyk (Steve Lenarduzzi); and aunt of Wyatt and Terran Sharp. Kim will also be dearly missed by her extended family, her many friends and her colleagues at Justice Canada. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 9 – 11 am. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11 am with a reception to follow in the McGarry Family Reception Centre. Memorial donations made to the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Kimberly would like to especially thank Dr. Bégin, Dre. Rémillard, and nurse Annie Cloutier; as well as the staff at Ergo Santé (Hull) and Uniprix (Aylmer).
