Katherine H. “Jonny” “Hattie” Foley
1934-2017
Katherine Harriet “Jonny” “Hattie” Foley, widow of the late Joseph F. Foley, of Bay du Vin, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday morning, December 29, 2017, at the age of 83.
Born in Bay du Vin, on January 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Elmond and Sarah (Williston) Johnston. She was a homemaker; a retired employee of the original Rehab Center, as a workshop manager; served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for several years.
She is survived by five sons, Michael Foley (Debbie), of Red Deer, AB, Blaine Foley (Marie), of Bay du Vin, John Foley, of Miramichi, Walter Foley (Rachelle), of Ponoak, AB, Bill MacDonald (Lilly), of New Westminister, B.C.; two sisters, Mary Scott, of Miramichi and Trudy Duff (Tom), of Blue Mountains, Ont.; one sister in law, Karen Johnston; two brothers, Havlock Johnston, of Ont. And Blair Johnston (Arlene), of Grafton, Ont.; nine grandchildren, Jerry, Erica, Jody, Curtis, Jenny, Leslie, Casey, Shawn, Jacqueline; nine great grandchildren, Alex, Maddison, Karlee, Layla, Cole, Jones, Penny, Cohen; Ayla; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her husband, Joseph; one son, Joseph Jr.; two brothers, Walter and Elmond.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Monday, January 1, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 11 am, conducted by Father Leon Creamer. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi Hospice Program or the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
