CRAIG, Katherine Jean (nee Aitken)
Jean Craig of Cambridge Ontario, formerly of Prince George BC, died peacefully in her sleep on April 7, 2017, at Hilltop Manor in Cambridge in her 94th year. Born September 4, 1923 in Prince George, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Charles Hercule Craig, her daughter Mrs. Kasandra Vance (‘Janis’) and her son William Bryce Craig. Jean was a loving homemaker, always the consummate hostess, who lived for many years in Hespeler. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s (Hespeler) Presbyterian Church. Music was Jean’s passion. She loved to sing and participated in the church choir and many other community choirs over the years. Jean was also a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, in Cambridge. Survived by: her son Barry Craig (Barbara), her daughter Cynthia Bruns (Roger), grandchildren Sherri Craig (Shawn), Nattalia Vance-Leamont (Joe), Ariana DeBoer (Anthony), Justin Vance (Chelsea), Whitney Vance (Chris), Alanna Bruns and Lauren Bruns (Rob), 8 great grand-children (who thought great grandma made the best banana bread and chocolate-chip cookies) and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge (H), on Tuesday April 18th between 1:00-4:00PM. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew’s (Hespeler) Presbyterian Church or the Canadian Arthritis Society would be appreciated.
