Mary “June” Hafermehl, of Hanover, passed away at the Hanover Care Centre, Hanover on Monday, March 27, 2017, in her 89th year.
Born in Blind River, Ontario, daughter of the late Edward and Mary (nee Hamilton) Ayerst. June owned and operated Hafermehl Jewellers with her husband Allan until retiring. When she wasn’t working at the store she was busy raising her children and enjoyed curling and lawn bowling.
Survived by son Randy (Joan) Hafermehl of Elmwood, daughters Brenda Hafermehl and Bonnie Sue Hafermehl both of Durham. Loved grandmother of Mandy Hafermehl (fiancee Jeff Gotelaer) and Cory (Lisa) Hafermehl. Loved great grandmother of Kingston. Predeceased by her twin sister Joyce Johnson, sister Edith Kloosterman and brother Ralph Ayerst.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 2-4 pm. Inurnment in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery, Mildmay.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
