PILON, Juliette (née Tremblay)
The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the age of 93 years. Wife of the late René Pilon, married in 1945. Daughter of the late Edouard and the late Alphonsine (née Pépin) Tremblay. Beloved mother of Rita Dickie (Ian) of Ottawa, Michel Pilon (Mary) of Ottawa, Lise Anderson (Jack) and Marc Pilon (Doris) all of Sudbury. Predeceased by her daughter Hélène Topp (late Robert) and by her son Robert Pilon (Judy of Sudbury). Dear sister of Onesime (Jeannine), Lucille Bertrand (late Hervé), Jacqueline Doucet (Léo) all of Sudbury and Gilberte Dupuis (late Adrien) of Geraldton. Predeceased by her brother Emmanuel. Cherished grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 10. In 1966, she moved to Sudbury where she taught for 6 years at Larchwood, Garson, Val Caron and also at École Curé-Seguin and was also a councillor in music in the Wawa region, McFarlane and Noelville. Juliette was a parishioner and member of the Senior Club at Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church in Sudbury. She was a board member of Laurentian Hospital; a member of the “Conseil consultatif de compte retraite du 3e âge”; a member of The National Diabetes Strategy; President of the “Fédération des enseignantes et des enseignants de l’Ontario from 1983-85 and in 1989; and a member of the Committee for the Annual Senior’s Game of Ontario from 1997-2002. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury.
